Divest the Falkirk Pension fund

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

The Falkirk pension fund are currently investing 28.2 million in arms companies that are sending arms to Israel. The fund has repeatedly made commitments to make progress on updating the Statement of Responsible Investment Principles, only to delay, stall, or fail to deliver. They continue to cite concern over potential legal action if they divest but do not consider the legal obligation of states that are signed up to the genocide convention, as the UK is, (and therefore public bodies of those states) to act to prevent genocide where there is a serious risk or plausible threat of it occurring . As such we are calling on members of the committee to use the meeting of the pension fund in June to call for a temporary measure of disinvesting in the 4 arms companies supplying arms to Israel that they currently invest in, at least until the expert advice that they are waiting on to strengthen the Statement of investment principles comes out at which time this decision can be revisited.
