That means reauthorizing the status quo of unaffordable rent increases and displacement via loopholes in the current rent control law. DC should not be reauthorizing a broken system. DC is on the edge of an eviction cliff with tenants unable to pay their rent due to years of unsustainable rent increases and the current emergency. The Council needs to strengthen and expand rent control NOW!
