Education, Not Erasure

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and affirmed in their school. President Trump’s Executive Order, “Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schools,” is a direct attack on transgender and gender-nonconforming students, teachers, and inclusive education. It seeks to erase LGBTQ+ identities from classrooms, silence educators, and make schools less safe for vulnerable students. Schools should be spaces of learning, growth, and belonging, not fear and exclusion. This order pressures schools to abandon their commitment to diversity and equality, forcing them to comply with discriminatory policies that harm students. If we do nothing, children will suffer: bullied in classrooms, misrepresented in curriculum, and denied the dignity of being recognized for who they are. That’s why parents, educators, and community members must take action. We are calling on principals, superintendents, and education leaders to publicly reaffirm their commitment to protecting every student. By refusing to comply with this Executive Order and standing up for students' civil rights, schools can send a powerful message: We will not turn our backs on our kids.
