Gibney: Cut Financial Ties With Israel

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

We are targeting Gibney Dance in New York City with an email campaign to urge them to cut financial ties with Israel. Gibney has consistently received funds from the Consulate General of Israel in NYC and very publicly promoted their “First Tour in Israel.” These are explicit violations of the calls for cultural boycott from Palestinian civil society. The letter goes in depth into our issues and demands – we encourage you to read it thoroughly to learn more. The demands are simple. Gibney should: Reject all future funding contracts affiliated with the Israeli government and any future tours in Israel, as long as the occupation and apartheid system continue; Take an active step towards solidarity by signing the PACBI pledge; Issue a public statement expressing alignment with this letter’s demands and solidarity with Palestine. While Gibney is not the only dance institution with ties to Israel, it is our current primary target because their the organization’s Israeli ties contradict their its stated emphasis on social justice and the beliefs of much of the community it serves.
