Help Lift Marin's Ban on Cannabis

WHY SENDING AN EMAIL MATTERS: A decision to deny Fairfax Cares Cannabis Dispensary license in Fairfax is not fostering competition, but stopping it. Fairfax Cares Musicians Fund is trying to open a cannabis dispensary in Fairfax near the Good Earth. After designating our office as being in an appropriate location, they then decided to rezone our building, effectively denying Fairfax Cares dispensary the ability to do business in Fairfax. An opposition group has sent over 200 emails to the council. We need your voice to turn back this anti-cannabis wave. If we let outside organizations bully our politicians and intimidate us into silence, how long before they will be pushing for more prohibitions? How is it that outsiders get to decide how we enact (or not) Prop. 64? Cannabis is legal in California. Opposition groups who believe they know better than the voters are trying to defeat Prop 64 at the local level. If they are successful there will be fewer cannabis retailers, which the legal farming community needs to expand their wholesale customer base. Combine that with the exorbitant fees, fines, and byzantine regulations that non licensed growers face if they try to go legal, and you have the real possibility that legalization will kill the cannabis industry's opportunities for small business entrepreneurs, and prohibit participation except for the wealthiest corporations, who can afford to lose money indefinitely while consolidating the market. Let the Fairfax Town Council know; YOU SUPPORT FAIRFAX CARES right to open a legal alternative medical dispensary at 1620 Sir Francis Drake. We believe that cannabis can help people lead healthier lives and have seen this come true with ourselves and our own friends and families. This is why we founded FAIRFAX CARES MUSICIANS FUND, to cultivate health and happiness by forming a sustainable non-profit medical dispensary that directly benefits Marin’s musician’s healthcare needs. Let’s make the Fairfax Care Musician Fund a reality together by letting the town council know you are in favor of opening an alternative dispensary in Fairfax. Dear Friends: Using this portal will send your email directly to the Fairfax Town Council, the Planning Commission, and the Town Clerk and also gives us a way to track our goal of reaching 300 letters before the next meeting on June 5th. Or, if you prefer an alternative, you can send an email to Fairfax Mayor, Barbara Coler, bcoler@townoffairfax.org and ask her to forward it to her all her council members.
