Keep Funding Our Schools: Every. Single. Year.

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Last year’s increase to the BSA was a great start to making up for decades of shrinking school funding relative to inflation. But it is just a start. Simply put, for decades, the amount of money the state has budgeted for schools has stayed about the same while the cost of doing business has gone up. You know this; think about how your groceries, gas, and healthcare bills have changed in recent years. Last year, the legislature overrode Governor Dunleavy’s vetoes to approve raising the Base Student Allocation. It was a huge accomplishment. But the compromise bill that was able to be passed was about half the true need. Our public schools have been running on fumes after decades of neglect, and costs continue to rise; we need to continue investing in our schools. Ask your legislators to keep investing in our schools.
