The entertainment ecosystem in our community is at risk. According to the National Independent Venue Association, 90% of all independent venues and promoters report they will close permanently without additional funding from the state or federal government. Missouri Entertainment Alliance is a coalition of independent venues and promoters who are working together to urge Missouri legislators to provide industry-specific financial assistance at the state level. Missouri legislators are meeting this week to determine how to spend the rest of the CARES Act funds: federal funds which will disappear at the end of the year if they are not spent, funds which this industry desperately needs to survive.
