A media investigation last month showed that while the GOP-led Congress slashed Amazon and Walmart's tax bill, thousands of their workers are forced by their corporate employers to use Medicaid - the Oregon Health Plan - for their health care. And those numbers are growing. Corporate Medicaid enrollment has tripled since 2020. That same bill that slashed Amazon and Walmart’s taxes cut billions from the program their own underpaid workers rely on. These politicians protected corporate profits and gutted the safety net those profits are built on. Health care union members know how important the Oregon Health Plan is to the patients and clients they serve and they are starting to speak out. The corporations working in our communities need to step up for Oregonians and stop gouging the state. Jeff Bezos has become a billionaire through the work of others.
