Lying to residents shouldn't be. During the Myatt's Fields by-election, Lambeth Labour chose to send leaflets to residents that claim to warn them about cuts to the library service. The twist is these cuts aren't happening, and Labour know it – they were in the meeting where the cuts were cancelled by the current Green admin. Another twist is the only reason these cuts ever were proposed is because Labour, while running the council, cut £500,000 from the libraries and scheduled another £500,000 cut in the next financial year. This is the cut the Greens cancelled. We think that scheduling cuts, watching them get cancelled, and then telling residents your opponents are cutting libraries anyway crosses the line. We're asking you to write to your local MP saying the same thing: campaigning is normal, but lying isn't acceptable. Simply provide your postcode and the tool will give you a letter to send to your MP.
