These new fees would: Disproportionately increase the cost of smaller infill projects, making them infeasible Make multifamily projects pay 2x the impact fees for single-family homes Unfairly and illegally burden new projects with upgrading existing infrastructure Make new residents downtown and in Northgate pay for facilities elsewhere in San Rafael The cost of building new housing in Marin County makes development challenging enough without adding excessive impact fees.
