Your Voice counts! Please add your support by sending this letter to your elected officials, because ALL employees of the State of New York must be treated consistently and equitably in matters of compensation. Far too often the Management and Confidential (M/C) employees of the State of New York are compensated unfairly when compared to their union-represented coworkers. Recent history holds numerous examples of inequitable treatment of M/C employees serving the people and the State of New York. In 2009 and 2010, general salary increases were withheld for M/Cs, but paid for union-represented employees. In 2020, union-represented employees received their performance advances and longevity lump sum payments on schedule despite the financial constraints caused by the COVID-19 pandemic; such compensation was withheld, however, for M/C employees. Finally, employees at all grade levels represented by CSEA and PEF are eligible to receive longevity lump sum payments, but only M/C employees at or below Grade 17 receive such compensation; this means that 9,000 hard working M/C employees above Grade 17 are prevented from receiving the very same longevity lump sum payments that their union counterparts regularly earn! Your help is needed now to end this mistreatment!
