In 2013, the Supreme Court ruled that the formula used to identify which states must have "preclearance" needed to be updated. The John Lewis Advancement Act will do exactly that. While many anticipated the Supreme Court's disastrous decision to gut the 1965 Voting Rights Act (VRA) last week, that doesn't make it less devastating. Here's an important next step.
