I deserve timely access to the medication my doctor prescribes me. Step therapy is a utilization management tactic that insurance companies use to save money. Step therapy requires patients to fail on the cheaper medicine first before they are granted coverage for the medication their doctor knows is right.  Help us tell Congress to pass the Safe Step Act, which will implement common sense reforms to allow patients timely access to the medicines that they and their doctor knows will work- without the harmful delays and fail first tactics. OLHA is proud to be a member of the Safe Step Act coalition, which unites more than 200 patient and provider groups. Nearly 40 states have already passed protections like these, and this bill came close to becoming law last Congress.
