The New Mexico legislature took a key step away from this dangerous precipice and to safeguard our constitutional liberties and civil rights by rescinding prior calls for a convention. But that doesn't stop wealthy special interests from working to rewrite our most precious governing documents from behind closed doors. With no rules to protect us, all of our constitutional rights and liberties could be up for grabs with an Article V Constitutional Convention. We are happy to report that this dangerous threat to our democracy was stopped.
