Jasmine was in the car with her mother, LaPorsha Washington, 30, and her sisters when a middle aged white man with a beard pulled up next to them in a pickup truck and began shooting. Jazmine was shot and killed while LaPorsha Washington sustained a gunshot wound to her arm and is hospitalized. Washington said the killer fired into the car and “didn’t stop.”  Washington was transported to Ben Taub Hospital in Houston. "…He sped in front of us and stopped and still continued to fire at us,” she said while crying from her hospital bed. The community is grieving.
