Protect working families. Stop HJR 0072

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Working families are once again under attack by greedy politicians and corporations. Notorious anti-labor legislator Senator Brian Kelsey is trying to enshrine Tennessee’s Right to Work law into our state constitution This resolution would make workplaces more dangerous, keep millions of Tennesseans struggling to make ends meet for generations to come, and set a dangerous precedent of amending the Tennessee constitution to cater to a political agenda. Working families in Tennessee need real solutions to real problems, like the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the struggling economy, not bitter attacks on the freedom to join together and bargain for a fair return on our work. Now is the time for our elected leaders to show they stand with working families by pledging to oppose HJR 0072 and stand up to the greedy corporations and politicians backing it. More about this resolution and its sponsor. When he’s not eroding workers’ rights in Tennessee, Sen. Kelsey travels throughout the country suing unions in an attempt to recoup dues that were collected prior to the Janus vs. AFSCME decision handed down by the Supreme Court in 2018. Along with the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, the Liberty Justice Center served as the lead counsel on that case. This resolution would enshrine Tennessee as a Right-To-Work-For-Less (RTW) state. Click here for more info on the damages of RTW: https://aflcio.org/issues/right-work. We know that these laws drive wages down and increase workplace injuries and fatalities. Right-To-Work-For-Less (RTW) laws have their origin in the machinations of shameful segregationists.
