Tell Gov. Cuomo: Stop Speed-Track Charter Teacher Certification

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/letters/photos/000/040/716/normal/Cuomo_and_Christie.jpg</thumbnail_url>

After enacting several new certification requirements for public school teachers in New Jersey, Governor Chris Christie led an effort to lower certification standards for teachers in "high-performing" charter schools. In what was called a "rare rejection" of a Christie proposal, the plan was voted down by the state Board of Education, with the board president stating publicly that he "couldn't find anybody who thought this was a good idea," other than the charter school lobby. Let Governor Cuomo know that nobody thinks this is a good idea for the children of New York either. All children deserve a qualified teacher in the classroom.
