House Republicans just advanced this legislation out of committee, and a full vote is expected in the House and Senate soon. This is our last chance to stop them before they hand even more wealth and power to the ultra-rich while cutting the services that working families depend on to survive. The plan makes permanent the most damaging parts of the Trump 2017 tax law, locking in massive tax breaks for the richest 1% while adding trillions to the national debt. Millionaire households making $2.5 million a year would get $55,000 in tax cuts every year. The 400 richest Americans would split $800 million in annual tax breaks. Corporations like Apple, Amazon, and Tesla stand to rake in another $75 billion. And ultra-wealthy business owners would pocket an average of $107,000 from an expanded “pass-through” loophole while working families would see just $40 or $50 annually, if they see anything at all. And how do they pay for it? By coming after the rest of us. Over $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and SNAP are on the table. That means ripping healthcare away from seniors, children, and people with disabilities. It means taking food off the tables of working families and pushing millions closer to or deeper into poverty. It means higher costs for students, seniors, and workers—while stacking more debt on our country that Republicans will use to justify future cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and education. While the wealthiest Americans hoard record-breaking fortunes, millions of families are already struggling with the cost of housing, food, healthcare, and child care. Instead of delivering real relief to working people, this bill doubles down on the failed trickle-down economics that has hollowed out the middle class, deepened inequality, and pushed millions to the brink. We’ve seen this scam before. We know how it ends. And we refuse to let them get away with it again. The good news is we can still stop this. Lawmakers need to hear from you before they vote.
