Stop the Abuse of Imran Khan!

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

As U.S. citizens, we cannot remain silent while democratic norms and basic human rights in Pakistan continue to erode at an alarming pace. The ongoing detention of political prisoners, including Imran Khan, now held for over 1,000 days under troubling conditions, along with the imprisonment of voices like Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha, reflects a broader pattern of repression that cannot be ignored. Reports of deteriorating health, lack of due process, and punitive action against dissenters point to a system increasingly at odds with the rule of law. This is not a distant issue. It directly impacts communities here in the United States. Many of us have family members, colleagues, and friends who are affected by this crackdown. The rise of transnational repression, where intimidation and surveillance extend beyond Pakistan’s borders into diaspora communities, raises serious concerns about safety and freedom even on American soil. As Americans, we expect our government and its representatives abroad to uphold the values they espouse, including human rights, accountability, and justice, and to act when those principles are under threat. We urge you to stand with us by sending this letter to the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and calling on our public servants to take meaningful action. The United States has both the responsibility and the leverage to press for humane treatment, transparent judicial processes, and accountability in Pakistan. Add your voice to ensure that these cases are not overlooked and that the fundamental rights of all individuals are defended.
