EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin declared this repeal “the largest deregulatory action in American history.” That is not hyperbole. This move would erase decades of climate progress, cripple future administrations from enforcing basic environmental protections, and hand the fossil fuel industry a blank check to pollute with impunity. It is reckless, deadly, and deeply immoral. But the states can fight back right now. California and Oregon have already committed to continuing their greenhouse gas regulations regardless of what the federal government does.
