Support Behavioral Health Mobile Units

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/letters/photos/000/209/799/normal/pjimage-9-2.jpg</thumbnail_url>

The Maryland General Assembly passed a bill last year to fund Behavioral Health Mobile Units. A bill this year, HB129/SB12, fills gaps by creating statewide standards requiring each jurisdiction to minimize law enforcement interaction with individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis. In Montgomery County we are too aware of the need for this legislation as, in the past two years, three men—Finan Berhe (2020), Kevin Costlow (2021), and Ryan Leroux (2021)—who were experiencing a mental health crisis, were killed by Montgomery County police. You can help get this legislation passed. Please use this action to send your state representatives a message.
