The Trump administration and ICE targeted Leqaa for speaking out against the U.S. government’s support for Israel’s slaughter of the Palestinian people. She hasn’t broken any laws. Israel has killed 175 members of Leqaa’s family in Gaza since the genocide began. If deported, she will likely be turned over to this same Israeli government that has slaughtered her family. Leqaa is currently held in Prairieland Detention Facility in Texas, one of many ICE detention centers notorious for human rights violations. “No freedom, no justice. It’s just an ugly place to be,” Leqaa said.
