Tell Congress: FTC Must Review EA Sale

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

A group of investors—including the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia and two private equity firms—wants to buy Electronic Arts (EA), one of the largest employers of video game workers in the United States. This sale is poised to bring down wages and spur more layoffs, not just at EA but across the industry. Players and workers are already being squeezed while video game publishers rack up profits. We don’t want even more power concentrated in the hands of billionaires who don’t care about workers or players. Workers deserve a fair, competitive marketplace where their skills are valued. EA is extremely profitable. With annual revenues reaching $7.5 billion and $1 billion in profit each year, EA is one of the largest video game developers and publishers in the world. EA’s success has been driven by tens of thousands of EA workers whose creativity, skill, and innovation made EA worth buying in the first place. If jobs are lost or studios are closed due to this deal, that would be a choice, not a necessity, made to pad investors’ pockets. Send a message to your member of Congress telling them to take action by urging the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to review this sale. The FTC must scrutinize this deal closely and ensure that any path forward protects jobs, preserves creative freedom, and keeps decision-making accountable to the workers who make EA successful.
