While working as a CPS caseworker in North Carolina, Amanda realized she had become a “silent enforcer of an oppressive system.” This led Amanda to launch Operation Stop CPS in 2021, an organization working to end the kidnapping of Black children from their families. Less than three months after Amanda launched Operation Stop CPS, the State launched a bogus criminal investigation against her. Two years later, the State Bureau of Investigation surrounded Amanda’s home and served a warrant for her arrest – traumatizing her family. The charge? Accessing a government computer during her employment. This isn’t the first time Amanda has faced retaliation. The court also issued a restraining order prohibiting Amanda from even visiting the courthouse, blocking Amanda’s court advocacy.
