Workers at QSL America, Inc. sites report unsafe machinery, inadequate training, excessive electronic surveillance, and a culture of intimidation that discourages raising safety concerns. Most concerning are recent reports and video evidence indicating that QSL America is importing out-of-state replacement workers during this strike. Yet, the International Illinois Port District continues to subsidize QSL America's anti-worker conduct through public funding and partnerships that the Port has extended to QSL. Illinois taxpayers reasonably expect their investments to generate good-paying, local jobs—not to subsidize the displacement of Illinois workers with out-of-state temporary labor.
