More Perfect Union published a video report exposing that the controversial and ineffective Alzheimer drug Aduhelm produced by Biogen – which cost $56,000/yr – was driving the record increase and we called on the Biden administration to take action. Only days after our video was published, Biogen cut the drug’s price in half to $28,200 and Secretary Becerra ordered CMS to review the related Medicare price hikes. The Biden administration followed through announcing it would restrict Aduhelm coverage to clinical trials, an important step forward and proving our work made an impact. In response, Big Pharma fought back and attempted to swamp the legally required public comments to overturn the ruling.
