Thank the Councilmembers Who Voted to Save I-82!

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/letters/photos/000/415/722/normal/THANK_YOU_(1).jpg</thumbnail_url>

On Monday, seven DC Councilmembers voted to strike Chairman Mendelson’s attempt to repeal Initiative 82 from the budget—a huge win for tipped workers and everyone who believes in democracy and fair wages. This victory was only possible because these Councilmembers listened to workers, stood up to political pressure, and chose to protect the will of the voters. Send thank-you emails to those Councilmembers to recognize their leadership and to remind them that workers are still watching closely. Many of them said during the vote that they expect a “compromise” before the next budget vote later this month. That makes it all the more important to show our appreciation now while making it clear that they continue the commitment to end the tipped minimum wage and give all workers full wages.
