The Constitution bans presidents from accepting gifts from foreign states. But Trump’s deal with Qatar appears to violate that—and raises alarming national security concerns. The Qatari regime has significant interests in U.S. foreign policy. If foreign governments can win influence by gifting luxury aircraft to sitting presidents, our democracy is in grave danger.
