Tell USDOT: Keep your word. Move transit, biking, and walking dollars now.

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to improve safety, access, and climate resilience. These dollars were appropriated to save lives and reconnect communities. But the administration has now paused and slowed implementation. This leaves an estimated 125 billion in DOT IIJA funds at risk when the White House ordered agencies to pause disbursements. That uncertainty was compounded by legal fights and political interference. Communities cannot rebuild if the money never leaves Washington. On July 4, Congress signed away billions in unobligated grants, including up to 2.4 billion from Neighborhood Access and Equity and as much as 750 million for trails, walking, and biking. Whatever was not obligated by that date was clawed back. USDOT has also been moving safety grants at about ten percent of the previous pace. Announcements are not obligations. The Emerald Trail in Jacksonville lost $147 million because the grant was not finalized in time. That is unacceptable. Reconnecting Communities and allied programs were in high demand because they fix the most dangerous, divisive infrastructure. House leaders have already targeted unobligated dollars for elimination. The longer USDOT waits, the more projects will die. Click 'START WRITING' to demand that Secretary Duffy immediately obligate all remaining safety, transit, and active transportation funds and publish a weekly public obligation dashboard so the country can track progress in real time now.
