With this announcement, we formally requested voluntary recognition from EDF’s Executive Management Team with a supermajority of union authorization cards from eligible staff across our nearly 500-person unit. We are proud to join the ranks of our unionized peer organizations and close partners, like the Natural Resources Defense Council, League of Conservation Voters, and others also represented by the Washington-Baltimore News Guild, our chosen parent union. Given EDF’s support for unions through its coalition partnerships externally, and its commitment to improving staff experiences internally, we hope to receive voluntary recognition and start good faith, productive bargaining as soon as possible.
