Right now, UC and CSU students have guaranteed access to medication abortion through their campus health centers — community college students don't. Even though CCC serves the largest, most economically diverse student population in the state, current law leaves them out of that same guarantee. Without on-campus access, students face real barriers: transportation, missed work or class, added cost, and privacy concerns navigating an unfamiliar provider. AB 2540 closes that gap using care students already trust, without requiring colleges to build new infrastructure from scratch.
