Like the blacklists of eras past, it threatens the vigorous, sometimes controversial and frequently creative exploration vital to engaging college and university study and teaching. Because it attacks people and institutions charged with promoting the frontiers of human knowledge, it is also a threat to free inquiry in our society as a whole. We will not be intimidated or shamed by this list.
