These cameras log every vehicle that passes and feed a national network that thousands of outside agencies can search. Across Arizona, that same network has been misused: one Phoenix-area department ran over 12,000 searches, an officer logged an ethnic slur as a search reason, and agencies used it to track people at protests. We are not asking our police to stop solving crimes. We are asking our local government to be transparent about a powerful tool bought in our name. We call on the City of Safford and the Graham County Board of Supervisors to: Release the Flock network audit, the full log of every outside agency that has searched our cameras' data, and the stated reason for each search. Disable federal and out-of-state data sharing by default, so our local data is not silently fed into ICE or other federal systems. Hold a public hearing before any Flock contract is renewed, with the audit results presented to residents first. Adopt a written ALPR use policy with real penalties for misuse.
