DCPS Custodians Deserve $15/hour!

	<thumbnail_url>https://actionnetwork.org//images/generic_facebook.jpg</thumbnail_url>

The hardworking men and women who keep Duval County Public Schools clean do so while fighting poverty wages of $12/hour. Even employees with decades of experience make only $12.72. With inflation pushing up the cost of everything, it is too little to live on. Raising pay for custodians to $15/hour is a step forward in treating them with respect and dignity by giving them an actual wage. It is not close to a living wage but will help hundreds of our neighbors focus on keeping our schools running and not if they have to choose between buying groceries or paying rent. The Duval County School Board can require contractor HES Facilities Management to solve this problem.
