(ESPAÑOL ABAJO) According to WIRED, ICE is expanding its presence in Nashville by leasing office space at the Nashville House Office Building, located at 1 Vantage Way in downtown. The Nashville House Building (registered under Nashville House, LLC), is owned and managed by Freeman Webb Company. Freeman Webb Company is a real estate and publishing company owned and led by Democratic TN House Representative Bob Freeman. Freeman Webb manages thousands of properties and receives significant public funds each year from Tennessee/Metro Nashville taxpayers to build “affordable housing” projects that prey on working-class residents (just ask the elders at the Madison Towers, or the hundreds of tenants sharing their testimonies on Google Reviews). Freeman Webb also owns publications like The Nashville Scene, which market themselves as “progressive” outlets, influencing thousands of local residents attracted to progressive ideas, feeding them narratives pre-approved by the Freeman dynasty. Freeman Webb was founded by Bob Freeman’s dad, Bill Freeman. Bill was a major donor to the Democratic Party, who over the years gave more than $7.8 million in direct federal contributions to mostly democratic candidates and committees, according to Bob Freeman on House Resolution 38 (a resolution to honor Bob’s dad, Bill). OUR DEMANDS TO REPRESENTATIVE BOB FREEMAN AND FREEMAN WEBB’S GOVERNMENT ENABLERS: We call on House Democrat Bob Freeman and other leadership at Freeman Webb to drop their contract with ICE immediately. We call on the Barnes Fund, Metro Nashville, the Metropolitan Development & Housing Agency (MDHA), and the TN Housing Development Agency (THDA) to stop giving handouts to Freeman Webb and to investigate the living conditions of Freeman Webb’s low-income, elderly, and Section-8 tenants.
