DEMAND ACTION NOW! A father is facing homelessness because Newcastle City Council failed him. Dennis, a single father battling depression, has been let down by Newcastle City Council after they wrongly labeled him as making himself "intentionally homeless", despite him paying rent and cooperating fully. Now, he could be kicked out of his home by 8 May 2025. This is causing him serious problems with caring for his son and safe guarding his mental health. The Council’s Failures:   Admitted they made a legal error but still won’t secure Dennis a stable home.   Ignored his mental health struggles.   Offered impossible "solutions", like finding a private rental under £800/month in Newcastle’s unaffordable private rented market.   We Demand Vicky McDermott & Newcastle City Council:   IMMEDIATELY STOP THE EVICTION of Dennis and his son.   PROVIDE A SECURE COUNCIL TENANCY, no more temporary fixes.   APOLOGISE for the distress caused by their mistakes.   This Isn’t Just About Dennis, It’s About All of Us. The housing crisis is pushing families into homelessness every day.
