DHWU Wants Senior Editors in the Bargaining Unit!

Since the Voluntary Recognition Agreement was signed, Dark Horse Workers United has been working in good faith with Dark Horse Comics to take the next steps toward contract negotiations—but that good faith has not been reciprocated. We have collectively struggled against a tide of red tape, subversion, and lack of transparency, despite management’s public commitment to come to the bargaining table in good faith. Even before reaching the bargaining table, we now find ourselves at another impasse—with management seeking to whittle away eligible members of our bargaining units in an attempt to weaken our union. Our Senior Editors, who have collectively brought over 100 years of dedication to creating some of your favorite comics series, are now in the crosshairs. Our Senior Editors are being told they have 2 options: accept new managerial duties by August 3rd (making them ineligible to join our union), or face demotion. Senior Editors are not and have never been considered managers. Their title implies their seniority as Editorial staff—all of whom boast a longer tenure than any member of our new leadership team. They are vital members of our organization, and we demand management stop using underhanded tactics to stall the progression of their inclusion in our union. Please join us in demanding Dark Horse management include our Senior Editorial staff as part of our bargaining unit so we may begin contract negotiations in earnest!
