Croydon is home to more people than any other London borough, yet we’re expected to do more with less. From 2022–2023, Croydon received £4,650 per head, compared to £5,077 in Lambeth and £5,378 in Southwark. The Conservatives in Westminster had 14 years to fix this and never did. And here in Croydon, Conservative Mayor Jason Perry has made no progress - except hiking council tax by 27% since 2022. This isn’t fair on Croydon. We welcome the recent £1.5 million investment from the national government in our high streets and community resources, but Croydon needs more than one-off funding announcements. Our borough deserves a fair, consistent deal that reflects the real needs of our community.
