And, families struggling to get home will hit the deadline on their ICC funding this fall. Meanwhile, Congress is debating changes to the NFIP which must be renewed in September. We need a flood insurance program that is fair, forward thinking and puts our families first, not one that lines the pockets of big insurance and helps big banks. It’s unforgivable that while we fought to get back home after Sandy, the insurance companies raked in $400 million in profit. Please tell David Maurstad that FEMA cannot roll out changes without including our hard learned lessons *especially* as families still struggle with COVID.
