Gov. Justice: Remove Slaveowner Statue from Capitol Grounds

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/petitions/photos/000/062/823/normal/Copy_of_Copy_of_SAVE.png</thumbnail_url>

Over 150 years ago, Thomas Jonathan Jackson purchased a black child named Emma as a gift to his new wife. Today, his statue stands proudly on the public WV State Capitol grounds. General Jackson is famed for his actions in war, where he helped kill thousands of people - including West Virginians - in defense of the Confederacy and the institution of slavery. West Virginia has been home to real heroes. Leon Sullivan. Pearl Buck. Mother Jones. It is long past time to honor true West Virginia heroes. ***Vigil Sunday, August 13th, 7:00pm at the Stonewall Jackson Statue (SE Corner of Capitol Grounds in Charleston). Honor and mourn Charlottesville civil rights leaders, and learn what you can do.
