Hire Dr. Asher, Follow UNC Rules

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/petitions/photos/000/767/847/normal/open-uri20260526-1945599-rbjy08</thumbnail_url>

I signed a petition calling on the Board of Trustees of UNC Chapel Hill to reverse their decision to deny hiring and tenure to a university-approved candidate. The Trustee “no” vote contradicts university policy and shows disdain and disrespect for everyone working or studying at the university. We cannot allow Trustees to brazenly ignore campus regulations and norms. We cannot let partisan plans for an anti-intellectual, corporatized university dismantle real work by renowned scholars. Our students, colleagues, and community deserve better. Will you join me and sign this petition?
