Humboldt County wants real clean energy

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/petitions/photos/000/142/582/normal/biomass_plant_from_ncj.png</thumbnail_url>

RCEA promised to provide Humboldt County with 100% clean energy for all by 2025, but their future energy plans include substantial amounts of biomass. Burning mill waste for electricity pollutes our air and emits far more greenhouse gas than replanted trees can absorb in the critical next decade. With nearly one quarter of our electricity coming from biomass, its higher price has used up millions of dollars that could have gone to develop local clean energy and increased efficiency to lower our energy needs.
