For decades, billionaire Republican megadonor Harlan Crow has plied Thomas and his family with private jet flights, yacht cruises, luxury vacations, and other expensive gifts that Thomas failed to disclose. And in 2012, Leonard Leo – the conservative activist who helped engineer the hard right’s takeover of the Supreme Court – instructed Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway to “give” Justice Thomas’s wife, Ginni Thomas, “another” $25,000 from an organization that was filing a Supreme Court brief, while emphasizing that the paperwork should have “No mention of Ginni, of course.” We cannot have real justice in this country when very wealthy people can so easily buy favor from members of our highest court. That’s why when Democrats win back the House in 2024, Clarence Thomas must be impeached.
