KEEP MCGUINNESS MOVING is a coalition of residents, community organizations, and businesses that want to preserve the traffic lanes currently present. We reject the “MAKE McGUINNESS SAFE” proposal. "Make McGuinness Safe" is a private group affiliated with Transportation Alternatives. They are proposing to reduce McGuinness Blvd to TWO LANES ONLY in order to put a two-way bike lane on McGuinness Blvd. NYC DOT, NYS Assembly Emily Gallagher, and Council Member Lincoln Restler are ONLY drafting proposal's based on removing parking and traffic lanes on both sides for the sole purpose of installing a two-way bike lane. “MAKE McGUINNESS SAFE”, Transportation Alternatives, Emily Gallagher and Lincoln Restler are exploiting the death of a PS110 teacher tragically killed crossing against the light late at night to justify redesigning the boulevard with a two-way bike lane. Transportation Alternatives is bike centric activist group whose backers are rideshare companies like Uber, Lyfty, Citibike, and Getaround. Their goal is to privatize transportation even if it harms other businesses or private citizens. We have talked to 100's of businesses, community organizations and residents that have been left out of the process and were unaware of this massive project. The majority of our districts constituents are not reflected in the 3 proposals to redesign McGuinness Blvd into a bike boulevard.
