Everyone in our district deserves the public luxury of affordable outdoor swimming. We're campaigning for an open air pool for Wakefield & the Five Towns. We want a pilot project underway as part of Wakefield's City of Culture 2025 bid. Sign our petition to show your support. Lidos are gaining popularity again as more people seek out the benefits of outdoor swimming and look to stay local. Some communities have experimented with temporary pools to see if a lido is for them (such as this pool in Belgium which opened this summer) We propose the council work with the business community run a pilot project with a temporary pool structure at one of our existing public parks, such as Pugneys, or by the canal at the new Tileyard North facility - to suppport the Wakefield 2025 City of Culture bid
