Today, families are still exposed to dangerous contamination. In 1978, Luella Kenny lost her son Jon. In 2026, the McKiernan family and their three young children are suffering serious health problems living on poisoned property beside the Love Canal landfill. This photo is of Luella, the first generation, hugging 1-year old Benny, the fourth generation of people suffering from Love Canal chemicals.
