Under the contract, South Portland has six surveillance cameras that monitor South Portland residents as they drive through Cash Corner, around the Mall, and near the Airport, and it is seeking to add another camera this year. The data from those cameras--including photos, videos, and license plate information--can be shared with a nationwide network of law enforcement agencies without a warrant. We are asking the Council to immediately end the contract with Flock Safety and not appropriate any money for Flock in this year's budget. Sign the petition to support this ask.
