We initially thought that finding housing would not be an issue, but because we did not know anyone or where to live, we stayed in a hotel for two months before we could find housing that could meet our needs. During that time, I had the opportunity to meet some wonderful families, but they were homeless and lived in the hotels as a means to an end. My family found housing and I frequently see families in cars, gentlemen in front of the local stores, and women and children standing on corner streets requesting money for food or work.
