The 'Remain in Mexico' policy forces asylum-seekers to stay in Mexico through the duration of their application process and inevitably makes families more vulnerable. As a result, children and families who are denied entry into the U.S. face uncertain conditions, lack of food and shelter, and unsafe environments. 'Remain in Mexico' is part of a series of attacks on migrants by the Trump administration.  Just like family separation, the asylum ban, family detention, rollbacks of the Flores agreement, TPS, and the wall, it is designed to hurt migrants.
