Scranton Teachers Need a Contract!

	<thumbnail_url>https://can2-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/groups/default_facebook_images/000/004/355/original/Screen_Shot_2021-09-24_at_10.34.08_AM.png?1632494514</thumbnail_url>

Scranton Federation of Teachers members might be forced to strike if they are not able to reach an agreement with the school board. Scranton educators are committed to negotiating in good faith. But, the proposals made by the Scranton School District have been scant, were very rarely in written form, and have been regressive and burdensome, not only to members but to students too. Contract provisions that have served the district well for decades are being attacked and gutted, and there is a lack of concern for the safety and well-being of students—especially regarding school nurse staffing and class sizes. The district has also proposed increasing the healthcare burden on educators, even beyond the contributions they already make.
